Prizes

Sometimes I get a little bit behind sending out our For the Love of KC prizes. As in a month behind. A big thank you to our prize winners for being very patient. For some reason, I pull out all the stops for our blog readers, hoping the something special we send brings a smile to your face. I love that our readers are not limited to Kansas City. These pilot maps were purchased at a recent garage sale and they make the best envelopes. The lining for the envelopes are old math notes from my high school algebra class.

Jess D // Wilmington, North Carolina
A pack of You are Exceptional note cards by Fresh Fish Creative
------------------------------------------------------------
Carlos C. // Kansas City, Missouri
$10 in burger bucks, courtesy of BRGR Kitchen + Bar
------------------------------------------------------------
Josh K. // Kansas City, Missouri (two-time winner!)
"Smoke Me" Bag of hickory wood from Northwestern, Missouri;
wood chopped and bag handmade by Sam Carter.

All prizes are sealed, stamped and ready to be posted. Check your mailboxes soon!

Josh goes to a lot of bars and he recognized this one immediately.
Aaron of Westport Cafe & Bar keeps an awesome magazine collection.
I've read some, "borrowed" some and brought some in to replace
the ones I took. Josh, I will be by First Friday to bring you something!

Where are we?
This is the most beautiful door to a Kansas City business.
Name the business - it's on a side street off a major thoroughfare.
Leave your answer in the comments section below or
send us a message via facebook or twitter @ELoungeKC.
------------------------------------------------------------------------

This door is on the street west of Broadway that you have to jog over to, in order to make a left turn onto 39th Street. And just like Carlos Chaurand said in the comments, it's the George P. Reintjes building down from Mama's. Carlos, email us with your addy so we can send you a thank you gift for knowing your city!

This abandoned office is on what street? Spiffed up, this would be

This is embarrassing, but true. These pictures are of two different buildings.
They're both on Southwest Boulevard but on separate streets. So how big of a goof is that?
Pretty huge. No matter, Erica still figured it out, which is pretty amazing.
Erica, we'd love to send you a little something for playing, just email us your address!

This playful sculpture sits on the corner of what neighborhood?
Tell us the cross streets and if you know who the artist is. Tina only

Jessi at Pensive Girl was the first to answer and absolutely right!

the tunnel

FOR THE LOVE OF KANSAS CITY
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where are we?
It was my first time to this spot, but it wasn't a secret by any means. We saw plenty of pedestrians,
cyclists and city workers when were there that day. Love all the different patinas and geometry.

This is The Town of Kansas Bridge. Everyone was super close, answering in the near vicinity.
David of The Hospitality Formula Network was exact, but since he won last time, we're spreading the love. We'd like to thank David for giving us a short history of the importance of the bridge. You can see more photos and read about it here. Erin Root answered first on facebook and beat streeturchin by five minutes. Erin, don't forget to send us your address. Thanks for playing everyone!

We stumped you guys for the first time! But maybe this was toooooo generic.
For the record, we found love at the former entrance of Matsu's in Westport.
Now, do you know where we are?

tea time?

FOR THE LOVE OF KANSAS CITY
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Where are we?
Manhood & FemaleJoy. Where did we find these teas?
To see the photos, please find us on facebook or twitter.
Another blogger meltdown this morning, but we're not going to let that
stop us. This is what you call a workaround! Give us your best guess.
Leave your answer in the comments section below or
send us a message via facebook or twitter @ELoungeKC.

David Hayden is this week's winner! You can probably find these exact teas or ones very similar at any number of the Asian markets in Kansas City, but we were at Chinatown Market in the River Market. There were a ton of other hilarious teas too, you can check them out for yourself in Aisle 2.

We are standing on the lower deck at Piropo's where you get a
beautiful view of the town and of course, Park University.
Street Urchin, you win this week! Drop us an e-mail with your
address so we can send you your prize. Thanks everyone
for all your great guesses.
