Link Love for the Weekend

Interesting how you have to squint to see the cigarette....
kind of like how you have to squint through a haze of cigarette smoke.
See more of Lan's great illustrations here.

Has anyone tried this new premium vodka? Love the creepy packaging.

Chloe Scheffe of the fashion-focused It's Symmetrical blog recently visited
friend Grant H. in Kansas City and did such a wonderful job of capturing our city.
She says Kansas City was all about the food and I don't think we can argue with
her there. We've got a really great restaurant scene, don't we?

This is the best restaurant website I think I've been to. Loads super fast
and I really like how they handled the gallery of restaurant photos. You get a
feel for the place at a glance without having to click through a slideshow.

Smart use of negative space for a memorable butcher's logo.

Pictures are not that great, but this is my go-to recipe blog site
when I am looking for Vietnamese dishes that I grew up eating.

Kansas City, K is next to Kansas City, MO.
Wichita and the wheat fields of Kansas.
This is a song I learned in elementary school.....when I lived in Portland, Oregon.
Our teacher split us up in two groups and we kind of chanted these lines back and forth.
I had no idea what I was singing, but funnily enough, I ended up living in Kansas City, K
which is indeed, next to Kansas City, MO. This one-page site tells you the difference
between our two fair cities and I have a feeling this person is Missouri all the way.

Playful and wonderful engagement photo session.

Paella pans are HUGE. I wonder what it's like to cook on a pan this size.

Today's post features guest photographer and graphic artist Elizabeth Cook.
Because of our friendship, she accepted Peanut chicken wings and a pitcher
of beer as payment for her services. See more of her work here. Thanks Beth!

Stephanie slings hair for a living now, but she was once a nail tech at a day spa (nine years). Although she initially liked giving manis and pedis, she soon "got sick of touching people. I don't want to touch people's feet." Her dream job would be to be a makeup artist, particularly special effects. In Stephanie's free time, she like to "drink, go see bands and travel. I go out of town a lot."
