Giving Back

The Employee Lounge believes in community service and we try to get involved as much as possible. We hope you don't mind us taking a bit of your day to talk about the great organizations and events we're involved with this year. You will find links to these events and some of our sponsors on our side bar.

We're helping coordinate an athletic fundraiser out at Loch Lloyd in September called Peak Performance for Children; it benefits PDSA, an organization that supports family, research and a cure for ITP and related auto-immune disorders which you can read about here.

Trainer and fitness fanatic Lance Darling is currently undergoing training for a record-breaking 30-hour workout. He will start at noon on September 16th and finish at 6 p.m. on September 17th. Lance will alternate between running and reps for 30 continuous hours with 10 minute breaks every hour. We have a kickoff party planned Friday night, a 5K fun run Saturday morning and a Kids Carnival, Hole-in-One Contest and a BBQ after-party from 6-8 pm on Saturday to celebrate Lance's feat of endurance. For more information, drop us an email or click here to find out more about PDSA and the event.

Our good friend Lynn Klein and her family host a memorial golf tournament in their parents' honor every year to benefit the Parkinson Foundation of the Heartland. We will be sponsoring a hole at the tournament along with Major Brands so come out and see us! For details or to sign up for the tournament, click here. And if you're on facebook, you can find out about the event here.

Finally, we're sponsoring the Fifth Annual Greater Kansas City Bartending Competition. This year's competition will be judged by cocktail master Dale DeGroff. The grand prize is $1000 cash! Attendees get to taste all the brilliant concoctions dreamt up by Kansas City's very talented bar employees. Enter the contest, find out details about the event, or become a sponsor here.
